TEAM SFH NIGERIA TAKES HOME THE 2017 FIDAF TOURNAMENT CUP

Team SFH Nigeria’s 2017 Defending Champions

Football has always served as a powerful unifier bringing diverse individuals and nations together whether as ardent supporters or skilled players. In the Federal Capital Territory, through the Federation of International Development Agencies Football (FIDAF) sports it brought together organizations whose similar interest is to improve the health of Nigerians. The tournament by R&R Sports 9ja organizes biennial contests between non- governmental organizations and indigenous agencies to challenge them in both mental, and physical games including football.

This year’s tournament held at Evelyn Event Center Gwarmipa, Abuja, in an organized fashion. With supporters from various health organizations filling the atmosphere with cheers for their team. It was also a good opportunity for them to network and let off steam from the demanding nature of their jobs.

From the very first game Team SFH demonstrated superlative performance and won every single football match with all its opponent FHI 360, Action Aid, Cambridge, DFID, AFENET, and finally becoming the 2017 FIDAF Tournament Champions by defeating MSH 2-0. This makes Team SFH Nigeria three time consecutive  winners of the FIDAF Tournament.  Samson Siasia, Nigerian former football striker and the former head coach of the Nigerian Men’s National football graced the occasion hugging and shaking hands with all players, coach and management staff around.

SFH Nigeria is glad to have participated in this year’s tournament and hopes to fully participate in other games in subsequent years.
