SFH Visits the Honourable Commissioner of Health, Kaduna State.
The SFH team recently paid a courtesy visit to Honourable Commissioner, Hajiya Umma K. Ahmed to extend their congratulations on her recent appointment as the Commissioner of Health for Kaduna State. Leading the delegation was Dayyabu Yusuf, the Director of Health System Strengthening and the Northwest Programme Lead at SFH.
During the visit, Mr. Yusuf conveyed SFH’s appreciation for the longstanding and productive partnership that has spanned over 30 years between SFH and the Kaduna State Government. This collaboration has significantly contributed to the enhancement of the health and well-being of the people of Kaduna State.
He also highlighted that SFH is actively involved in the implementation of six projects within the state. These projects include ANRiN, Adolescence 360, IntegratE, Global Fund Malaria, DISC, and the Global Fund NAHI, he mentioned while also provided a brief overview of each of the projects.
Mr. Yusuf emphasised the uniqueness of this partnership by noting that, in addition to projects funded by International Development partners such as USAID, GLOBAL FUND, and BMGF, SFH has a project funded by the Kaduna State Government itself – the ANRiN project. This demonstrates the high level of trust, mutual understanding, and confidence that exists in the enduring relationship between SFH and the Kaduna State Government. He therefore appealed to the Honourable Commissioner for her continuous support in order to sustain this valuable partnership.
In response, Honourable Commissioner Hajiya Umma K. Ahmed expressed her gratitude for the visit and assured the SFH team of her unwavering support. She acknowledged that the government relies on such partnerships with development organisations to effectively manage important sectors like health and education.
Furthermore, the Commissioner pledged her commitment to actively engage with each of the six projects to gain a deep understanding of their contributions and to explore ways in which the Kaduna State Ministry of Health can assist in overcoming challenges. She also emphasised her determination to create an enabling environment to ensure the successful implementation of these projects.
