Celebrating 40 Years of Impactful Change

SFHat40 – Creating Change, Enhancing Lives

On the 26th of November 2024, SFH celebrate four decades of commitment to improving public health across Nigeria and West Africa. Society for Family Health (SFH) has journeyed through the years, transforming lives and advancing health systems, and we could not be more proud of the incredible impact we have had over the years. From a bold vision in 1983 by our founding leaders to becoming a Pan African organisation delivering health services to the poor and vulnerable, SFH has achieved remarkable success:

  • Over 89 million Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) averted
  • 58 million Couple Years of Protection (CYP) provided
  • 85 million people reached with health services
  • And much more!
  • Our impact goes beyond numbers – it is about the mothers who no longer fear preventable diseases, the young people empowered to make healthy choices, and the families who now look to the future with hope, each story representing a life not only touched but transformed with renewed hope and possibilities.
