About SFH

  • What is Society for Family Health (SFH)?

    SFH is a Nigerian non-governmental organisation working in partnership with communities, government, donors, and the private sector for universal health coverage and social justice. We are one of the largest public-health NGOs in the country.

  • When was SFH founded?

    SFH was founded in 1985. Forty years on, the organisation has grown into a multi-country group working across Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Côte d’Ivoire.

  • Where does SFH work?

    In Nigeria, SFH delivers programmes across all 36 states and the FCT, with 16 field offices nationwide. SFH headquarters sit at the Hon. Justice Ifeyinwa Nzeako House in Garki, Abuja.

  • Is SFH religious or political?

    No. SFH is independent of any political party or religious affiliation. We work with all government administrations, donors, and faith-based partners that share our commitment to families’ health.

Programmes & impact

  • What programme areas does SFH focus on?

    Eight thematic areas: family planning and reproductive health, malaria, tuberculosis, maternal and child health, water hygiene and sanitation, non-communicable diseases, diarrhoeal diseases, and new initiatives.

  • How is SFH funded?

    SFH is funded by a coalition of bilateral and multilateral agencies, foundations, and government partners, including USAID, FCDO, the Global Fund, WHO, UNICEF, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Bank, Gavi, and the Federal Ministry of Health.

  • How can I read SFH’s annual reports?

    Public reports, evaluation studies, and donor outputs are published in the Reports & Publications section of this site. Strategy documents live alongside our Strategic Plan page.

Working with SFH

  • How can I apply for a job at SFH?

    Managerial roles go through the Simplicant portal at sfh.simplicant.com. All other roles (including consultancies, volunteer positions, and internships) live on the Zoho Recruit portal at sfhnigeria.zohorecruit.com. Create a profile once, then apply to any open role.

  • Does SFH charge fees during recruitment?

    No. SFH does not charge fees at any stage of the recruitment process. Report any approach asking for payment, gifts, or other consideration to info@sfhnigeria.org so we can investigate.

  • How can my organisation partner with SFH?

    Partnership enquiries (programmes, research, supply chain, technology, capacity building) start by contacting the partnerships team at info@sfhnigeria.org. We will route the request to the relevant Programme Delivery Unit.

Support & integrity

  • How do I donate to SFH?

    The Donate page lists four open campaigns (Water Initiative, Maternal Health, Child Nutrition, Menstrual Hygiene). Each runs through QuickTeller, the secure payment platform. SFH does not handle or store your card details.

  • How do I report misconduct, fraud, or safeguarding concerns?

    Use the Reporting Channels page to file a confidential report. SFH prohibits all forms of exploitation, abuse, and harm of the people we serve by any SFH representative, and we investigate every report received.

  • How do I contact SFH for press or media enquiries?

    Press, media access, event invitations, and information requests can be sent to info@sfhnigeria.org. The team routes enquiries to the appropriate spokesperson within two business days.
