The DMPA-SC Scale Up Project is in its 2nd year of Implementation across 9 states – Adamawa, Gombe, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Edo, Taraba, and Akwa Ibom State. The CIFF project adopted the Social Marketing and Community Based Distribution Model to drive uptake of DMPA-SC and encourage self-injection among women of reproductive age.
This project aims to educate the women on healthy child spacing and increase demand for DMPA-SC (Sayana Press) thereby encouraging women to embrace self-injection. Provider Behavioural Change Communication (PBCC) training was incorporated in this programme to move more women from that level of awareness to adoption and advocates of the method.
