SFH Global Fund Malaria (GFM) team were in Akure, the Ondo state capital on Tuesday 13^th June, 2017, for an exit advocacy visit to the Executive Governor Barr. Rotimi Akeredolu, popularly addressed as ‘Arakunrin’. The SFH team was led by the MD, Sir Bright Ekweremadu and GFM Director, Dr. Ernest Nwokolo.

The M.D in his remarks encouraged the Ondo state governor to use his good office to advocate for increased ANC attendance and SPs uptake among pregnant women, malaria diagnosis using Rapid Diagnostic Tests and treatment if confirmed, using Artemisinin-based Combination Therapy. The team also talked about the need for the state government to influence policies where necessary and identify local sources of funding for malaria control activities.

The Governor appreciated and expressed satisfaction at the good work SFH has accomplished in the State and the need for her continuous support. He also conveyed the willingness of the State to partner with SFH.
